UNIUYO Admits 10, 926 Students For 2016/2017 Session

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has admitted 10, 926 students for the 2016/2017 academic session.

Speaking during the event, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Enefiok Essien, charged the new students to be studious and shun all anti-social activities.

“I encourage you to remain positively adventurous throughout your university experience. More importantly, from this moment on, you will shed most of your childish nuances and youthful exuberances and devote your time and energy to your studies.

“What this means is that you must have the right priorities, with your education at the very top. Remember that there will be no bell to ring, no parent to wake you up from bed or monitor your movement. What you need is to be disciplined enough to get prepared for your lectures and other positive social activities on time.”

“Academic work requires peace and order. Crisis leads to loss in property, time and even life; you should know that crisis may keep you on the programme longer than necessary. So, be mindful of what you do. Make sure you individually and collectively pursue peace, harmony and order, so that your academic work can proceed smoothly and you graduate on time.”

He finally reminded them that that degrees are awarded only to deserving students found worthy in learning and character.
